the wknd nomads
Thanks for being here, and for taking a moment to check us out!
Planning travels to a new country can be daunting. It is challenging to figure out what you want to experience within a certain time frame or budget when there are so many options, while also leaving space for spontaneity. We serve as a library of experiences, intentionally compiled by curious explorers. We hope you’ll be inspired to plan your next trip and become a “weekend nomad” yourself. All photographs taken by us.

Aida Wen — founder & editor
Hi! My name is Aida and I’m an avid explorer currently based in NYC. I was born and raised in the United States (Indiana, Texas, California, & Florida), and the frequent moves my family made instilled in me a passion for exploration and connection that I chased throughout my college years in Boston, MA. It led me to new states in the U.S. like Alaska and Maine, but also new countries such as Chile (bucketlist!!!).
Currently working on my PhD, going on long walks in the city, and planning my next trip! In my travels, I love exploring the local cultures of a new country, going on a no-service hiking trip, and cold-plunging in the nearest body of water. Next destination? Thinking Guatemala…and exploring all that New York has to offer.
